There might be nothing more important than when you go to the market to grab some things and suddenly somebody throws a fireball at your face.
Generally though, this does not happen to you on the regular does it? Well, congratulations you have just made contact with the demi monde! The half human, half fae and half something else (yes, I know that does not add up, but since when has magic ever adhered to the wims of logic?).
And some of those not-strictly-definable people have apparently mastered the ancient wisdom of moving stuff with you thoughts, inhuman hearing and condensing fire into a small ball to throw at unwanted visitors like yourself.
So far this community of people has not been to keen on getting well known by others, many mostly out of fear of what the response could be.
Some with more notorious reasons.
However, in recent times there seemed to be an uproaw of violent crimes commited by members of the magic community. Why, still has to be seen. But one thing is for sure: something has to be done! There have been reports of attacks on local shops, libraries and - for some reasons - even laundromats (before you ask, it was not for the money). So the most interesting question appears: "how do we properly ensure the safety of the demi monde? how do we police these raskalls?"
We cannot send "normal" policemen and women to deal with the criminal minds of the make-water-appear-out-of-thin-air-club because dealing with mystical events needs to be done by somebody of great experience and in the best case with a wizarding degree.
Which is why I propose exactly this: an official wizarding degree!
Complete with everything you need or want to know about the mystical arts with only one downside: right now it can only be used to enter the magical police force. Maybe we could add a wizarding degree as a requirement for some other workfields that could use this certain spark?
